Omnia Winter and Summer Services Ltd. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Omnia App mobile application and related web services to provide residential and commercial snow removal services across Alberta, Canada.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and applicable Canadian privacy laws.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the personal information strictly necessary to provide, manage, and bill for our snow removal services:

  • Service Location: Physical property address where snow clearing services are performed.
  • Payment Information: Payment card details and billing records. All payment transactions are handled directly by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not store or process complete credit card numbers or security codes on our servers.
  • Service Records: Route logs, service completion timestamps, dispatch notes, and customer support communications.

2. Why We Collect Your Information (Purpose)

Under Alberta PIPA, we collect and use your personal information solely for reasonable business purposes related to fulfilling snow removal services, including:

  • Fulfilling Physical Services: Dispatching crews and equipment to your designated property address.
  • Billing and Payment: Processing one-time and recurring monthly subscription charges via Stripe.
  • Operational Communications: Sending transactional notices regarding crew arrival, completion notifications, billing receipts, and account updates.
  • Customer Support: Responding to questions, service disputes, and property instructions.

3. Payment Processing and Cross-Border Data Transfers

We rely on third-party service providers to handle technical infrastructure and payment processing:

  • Stripe Integration: Stripe securely processes all payment details. Your payment data is collected according to Stripe’s Privacy Policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards.
  • Cross-Border Transfer Notice: Stripe and certain cloud infrastructure providers may store and process personal information outside of Alberta or Canada (including in the United States). Personal data stored outside Canada may be accessible to foreign courts, law enforcement, and national security authorities under local foreign laws.

We collect and process your personal information based on your explicit consent.

  • Account Creation: By registering for an account, checking the consent box, and requesting snow removal services, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in this policy.
  • Marketing Communications: We do not send marketing messages or off-season promotions without your explicit, separate opt-in consent in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You may withdraw consent for promotional communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in messages or in your app settings.

  • Data Safeguards: We employ reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, theft, and modification.
  • Retention Period: We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the operational purposes for which it was collected or to satisfy legal, accounting, and tax requirements (such as retaining transaction records under Canada Revenue Agency rules).

6. Your Rights and Account Deletion

Under Alberta PIPA and platform requirements, you have clear rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access and Correction: You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections if any details are inaccurate.
  • In-App Account Deletion: Both Apple App Store and Google Play guidelines require simple account deletion. You may permanently delete your account and associated personal data directly within the app by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your monthly recurring snow removal subscription at any time within your app settings.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Omnia App mobile application does not use browser cookies. We do not use third-party cross-app advertising tracking frameworks without explicit device-level authorization.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our legal obligations, business operations, or app features. When changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and notify you via email or an in-app alert prior to the changes taking effect.
